Fr. Paul’s Blog – 9.29.19

Welcome!
This Sunday at our 10 am service, our adult Chancel Choir will be joined by our Jubilate Youth Choir. Like our Chancel Choir, our Jubilate Youth Choir is affiliated with the Royal School of Church Music. The children in this choir participate in the “Voices for Life” curriculum, a graded program that teaches healthy singing habits, musical skills and understanding, and repertoire, while also teaching ensemble behavior (commitment, punctuality, and responsibility) within a context of Christian ministry.
The growth of our children’s choir in just two years is nothing short of remarkable. Two years ago the choir numbered six children. There are now 14 children who sing in this ensemble. While the growth of the Jubilate Youth Choir is remarkable, it is not accidental. Under the leadership of Dr. Paul Cienniwa, our Director of Music Ministries, the Jubilate Youth Choir has become a family ministry, with parents, grandparents, and guardians preparing meals and joining the children for dinner after rehearsals. We have been blessed with wonderful assistants for our Jubilate Youth Choir. This year we’ve welcomed Frankie Harryhill, a Day School graduate who also sings in our adult Chancel Choir. An accomplished musician in his own right, Frankie has helped to provide great support to this growing ministry of worship and praise.
The Jubilate Youth Choir is sponsoring coffee hour after the 10 am service. I hope you will join us and learn more about this wonderful choral program.
Finally, this week we welcome back Fr. David Angelica, our seasonal assisting priest. After spending the summer on Cape Cod, he is looking forward to being back with us in south Florida. His wit, charm, and inspiring preaching are a blessing for us!

Blessings in Christ,
Fr. Paul+
