Fr. Paul’s Blog – 10.6.19

Welcome!
This Sunday at our 10 am service, we will commission two new Stephen Ministers! Gloria Mellios and Joe Ryan have completed an 18-week course of training that has prepared them to provide quality, confidential, Christ-centered care to those who are experiencing a crisis or going through a tough time. As we commission Gloria and Joe, I want to thank Ellie Holdridge, one of our Stephen Ministry leaders. Ellie’s dedication to this ministry of Christian caregiving is a tremendous blessing to our parish family at St. Paul’s.
Perhaps you, like Gloria and Joe, feel called to serve as a Stephen Minister. Or perhaps you or someone you know is experiencing a crisis or going through a tough time and could benefit from receiving care from a Stephen Minister. I encourage you to come to coffee hour after our 8 and 10 am services to learn more about this special ministry of Christian caregiving.
This Sunday, after the 10 am service, we continue our Christian education forum series “Formed and Informed by Faith.” Today’s topic is immigration. Macarena Santos (an attorney specializing in immigration law) and I will present the Episcopal Church’s teaching on immigration and look at some relevant policy positions passed by General Convention and the Executive Council of the Episcopal Church.
Last, but certainly not least, this weekend we are delighted to welcome back our favorite New England Patriots fan, Fr. David Angelica!

Blessings in Christ,
Fr. Paul+
