Fr. Paul’s Blog 7.28.18

May the grace and peace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you now and forever.  Whether you are a member, a regular attendee, or a first-time visitor, we are blessed to have you with us.

In the gospel today, Jesus feeds a hungry crowd through the multiplication of five loaves and two fish.  For John the Evangelist, this was one of many “signs” that revealed Jesus as the Messiah.  This week, as a parish family, we will follow the example of Jesus and feed many people who will come to us hungry and hurting.

This Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, we will host the Caring Kitchen lunches.  We are serving as a temporary, alternative site for the Caring Kitchen as our neighbors at Cason United Methodist Church, who normally host the Caring Kitchen on Tuesdays and Thursdays, host their Vacation Bible School this week.  On Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, we will also serve as substitute host for Family Promise.  If you would like to help with either of these outreach activities, there are sign-up sheets in the courtyard.

Believe it or not, we are just two weeks away from the beginning of the new school year for Palm Beach County.  Our Children, Youth, and Family Ministry has lots of great “end of summer vacation” and “back-to-school” activities lined up.  Check out the Acts of St. Paul’s section of this bulletin for all the great things happening!

In Christ,

– Paul
