Fr. Paul’s Blog 5.18.18

This weekend we celebrate Pentecost, traditionally considered the “birthday of the Church.” In celebrating Pentecost, we rejoice in the gift of the Holy Spirit poured out to us by our Resurrected Lord. At our 10 am service, our celebration of Pentecost will include the baptism of three children. We congratulate and offer our prayerful support to their parents and Godparents as these children begin their journey of faith as members of the Episcopal Church. Our 10 am service will also include the awarding of medals of completion of the White Level of the Voice of Life Curriculum to five of our Youth Choir singers. This year, St. Paul’s Youth Choir became an affiliate of the Royal School of Church Music. We are grateful to the children of our Youth Choir for enriching our worship with their gift of voice, to their supportive parents and grandparents who make their participation possible, and to Dr. Paul for pulling it all together! Speaking of gratitude, today we thank Fr. David Angelica in a special way as he returns to New England for the summer. We look forward to welcoming him back in October! We also want to thank our Brotherhood of St. Andrew for the phenomenal Mother’s Day Brunch they served last Sunday. Well done, good and faithful servants! Finally, I’m happy to share with you that I have appointed Robert “Bob” Helander as our new parish chancellor. As we welcome Bob Helander as our new chancellor, we again thank Robert “Bob” Chapin, his predecessor, who served our parish with distinction as chancellor for many years.
