Welcome…and Happy New (Church) Year!
Today we celebrate the First Sunday of Advent, the beginning of our new liturgical year. This year we are offering several opportunities to enter evermore deeply into this sacred season. It starts today with our Advent in the Courtyard! Be sure to visit the courtyard after today’s worship to discover the many ways that you and your family can prepare the way for Christ in your life through worship, prayer, fellowship, study, and service during Advent.
This week we have a couple of special Advent programs. On Thursday, we begin our Rector’s Advent Bible Study titled “A Thrill of Hope: The Christmas Story in Word and Art”. This three week journey will provide spiritual nourishment during the hustle and bustle of December. On Friday, our Children, Youth, and Family Ministry will host our annual St. Nicholas Dinner at 5:30 pm, followed by caroling at 7 pm. You can read more about these and other Advent programs inside today’s bulletin.
This Sunday at 11:30 am, we begin our 2020 stewardship pledge drive with the first of three bible studies and small group discussions. Our 2020 stewardship theme is “Live a God-Pleasing Life”. Through the months of December and January, we will learn about the basis of Christian stewardship and its application in our lives. As we spend time in God’s Word during our Sunday worship and bible studies, we will better understand how God wants us to use our lives and resources for His purposes. Sunday’s bible study is titled “Faith Is the Foundation”.
In Christ, our Hope,
Fr. Paul+
