Fr. Paul’s Blog – 11.24.19

Welcome!
Today we celebrate the Feast of Christ the King. This feast day brings the Church’s liturgical year to a close. In proclaiming Christ our king, we rejoice in our baptismal call to proclaim, in word and deed, His kingdom, which is the Kingdom of God.
One of the wonderful aspects of this annual feast is that it always falls on the weekend either before or after Thanksgiving. I encourage you today to pause and prayerfully give thanks for the blessings in your life. Ask yourself “how have I been blessed?” and “how am I a blessing for others?” These are “Kingdom questions” that invite us into deeper union with God, the giver of all good gifts.
As I count my blessings today, I am particularly grateful for the many volunteers who gave so much of their time, talent, and resources to make our Treasures & Trinkets event so wonderful. This terrific event is a blessing that helps provide the financial resources that allow us to make such a positive difference in the lives of the poor who we serve through our mission and outreach ministries. Whether it is a hungry person given a meal at the Caring Kitchen here in Delray Beach or a Haitian child going to school at Bon Samaritan School in Bondeau, your generosity and compassion is making a tremendous impact for good.
On Wednesday evening at 7:00 pm we will celebrate a special Thanksgiving Service. Please join us as we worship and praise God, the source of our blessings.
Next Sunday, after our 10 am Service, we will have the first of three bible studies and small group discussions for our 2020 stewardship pledge drive. Please plan to participate in this important gathering.
Gratefully in Christ,
Fr. Paul+
