Fr. Paul’s Blog – 1.8.19

Welcome!
To begin, I want to first thank this wonderful parish family of St. Paul’s for all of your prayers and support through my father’s final illness and since his death last Sunday afternoon. Irene and I, and our family, are so grateful for your love and kindness during our time of grief. My father lived a life of faith and died a very peaceful death, knowing the Lord Jesus and confident in His promise of eternal life. My faith tells me that dad rests in peace and that he will rise in glory!
As we continue our Advent journey, we have some wonderful opportunities for worship and fellowship, starting this Sunday afternoon, December 8 at 3 pm, with our Advent Lessons and Carols Service. This liturgy of Word and song will feature our Chancel Choir and Jubilate Youth Choir. On Monday evening, December 9 at 6 pm, we will have our Parish Holiday Celebration. While this event is being sponsored by our Women’s Fellowship ministry, it is for everyone! You can purchase your tickets for the Parish Holiday celebration after all services this weekend.
Last Sunday, we began our 2020 stewardship pledge drive with the first of three bible studies and small group discussions. Our 2020 stewardship theme is “Live a God-Pleasing Life”. Through the months of December and January, we will learn about the basis of Christian stewardship and its application in our lives. As we spend time in God’s Word during our Sunday worship and bible studies, we will better understand how God wants us to use our lives and resources for His purposes. The next stewardship bible study and small group discussion, which is titled “Discipleship is the Path,” will be Sunday, December 15 at 8:45 am and again at 11:30 am.
In Christ, our Hope,
Fr. Paul+
