Fr. Paul’s Blog – 10.13.19

Welcome!
This weekend we welcome Fr. Kevin Goodrich, O.P. as our guest preacher! Fr. Kevin is a traveling preacher, spirituality teacher, and pastor. He is a member of the Anglican Order of Preachers (aka Dominicans), one of the many religious orders in the Episcopal Church and wider Anglican Communion. I got to know Kevin when he lived here in the Diocese of Southeast Florida, prior to his being called to serve a church in Iowa.
After our Sunday 10 am service, we will welcome Jennifer Raymond, Executive Director of Family Promise of South Palm Beach County, for a very special Sunday forum, coffee hour, Family Promise volunteer training event in the parish hall! Our “Formed and Informed by Faith” Sunday forum series continues this Sunday with a presentation from Jennifer on homelessness in our community. Immediately following her presentation, she will facilitate a training session for current and new Family Promise volunteers.
This week we have two very special fellowship events. On Monday evening, October 14th, we have a Women’s dinner and program that will feature a presentation titled “Spiritual Community Beyond the Walls,” by Rev. Marcia Beam, retired rector of St. Matthew’s. On Friday evening, October 18th, we will have a family Oktoberfest sponsored by our Brotherhood of St. Andrew. There are sign-up sheets for both of these events in the courtyard.
Finally, next Sunday, after our 10 am service, we will have a newcomers lunch and church tour. So, if you are new to St. Paul’s or have never been to a newcomers lunch, I invite you to join us to meet new people and learn more about our St. Paul’s church family.

Blessings in Christ,
Fr. Paul+
