Rev. Kathleen’s Blog 10.21.18

Welcome to St. Paul’s! If this is your first visit or your Sunday routine, please know that you are welcome to join in any of our activities and missions – and there are many to choose from! Please feel free to take this bulletin home with you – to remem-ber the scripture and music and check your calendar to participate in all this communi-ty has to offer. The Pilgrimage to the Holy Land continues and by all accounts it is a wonderful experience for the travelers – check out the St. Paul’s FaceBook page for the latest. As planned, the pilgrims placed the prayers of the congregation into the Western Wall in Jerusalem. All of the prayers we collected on our own replica of what was once called the ‘wailing’ wall, were placed with care this week in Jerusalem, joining our prayers with prayers from around the globe. We continue to pray for the victims of Hurricane Michael. It is hard to imagine that there are still people unaccounted for as the death toll continues to rise. We have heard from our old friends Rev. David Knight and Jennifer at St. Simon’s on the Sound in Ft. Walton Beach and they survived the storm with minimal damage. The churches east of them in their Diocese of Central Gulf Coast, however, were badly hit. So, we will coordinate our efforts with Rev. David and their Diocese. Please see the report on page 9. Baskets are available for donations at each door today. The St. Paul’s men’s Brotherhood of Saint Andrew has already sent a check for $1,000 for immediate relief – thanks guys. We pray first, and act as fast as we can. Join us in prayer and action this week?

With blessings, Rev. Kathleen Gannon
