Fr. Paul’s Blog – 9.8.19

Welcome!

This Sunday we begin our new year of Sunday School! As part of this new beginning, we will bless our Sunday School children, teachers, and volunteers at the 10 am service.
Our innovative Sunday School program includes lessons that are based on the scriptures read at the Sunday service. These lessons use storytelling, crafts, games, drama, and other creative ways to engage the children with the story of God’s people. It is a great way for families to share God’s word throughout the week. To register your child, please contact the church office or sign-up online.
As we begin another Sunday School year, I want to take this opportunity to thank Liz Ryan and her team of “Popcorn & Parables” volunteers: Janet Thompson, Taylor Kilpatrick, and Tania Shelley who nourished and nurtured for our children during the 10 am service throughout the summer. We are so blessed to have so many people give so generously of themselves for the Christian formation of our children.
This weekend we have an opportunity to help our sisters and brothers in The Bahamas who suffered such tremendous devastation from Hurricane Dorian. In addition to praying for them, we will take up a special collection to support the relief efforts of Bishop Boyd, the Bishop of The Bahamas and The Turks and Caicos. You can place your donation in the basket at the entrances of church, or donate directly at the Diocese of Southeast Florida website (diosef.org) or Episcopal Charities of Southeast Florida (ecsefl.org), noting “Bishop’s Bahamas Appeal”. I thank you for your generosity to those suffering so much.

Blessings in Christ,
Fr. Paul+
