Fr. Paul’s Blog – 5.5.19

Jesus Christ is Risen! He is Risen indeed!
Welcome! Whether you are a member, a regular attendee, or a first-time visitor, we are blessed to have you with us.
This past Wednesday, some of us from St. Paul’s joined the wider community at a special Yom HaShoah Commemoration service hosted by Temple Sinai. Yom HaShoah is an annual service observed by the Jewish community to remember those who were murdered in the Holocaust and to stand with all people of goodwill to say “never again” to such horrific acts of inhumanity.
As we continue to witness deplorable acts of inhumanity, some of which are committed in the name of religion, our faith encourages us not to despair, but rather to hope in the power of love. For us Christians, the Resurrection of Jesus is the foundation of our belief that love is stronger than hate.
Speaking of the power of love, this coming Saturday, May 11, we will have the opportunity to put love into action at the annual “Stamp Out Hunger Postal Food Drive.” For details on how to get involved, see the announcement inside this bulletin.
Finally, next weekend we celebrate Mother’s Day. Our Brotherhood of St. Andrew invites all women and their families to a special breakfast after both of the Sunday morning services. Please be sure to sign up for the breakfast to help the Brotherhood plan properly.

In Christ, our risen Lord,
Fr. Paul+
