Fr. Paul’s Blog – 4.7.19

Welcome!
May the grace and peace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you now and forever. Whether you are a member, a regular attendee, or a first-time visitor, we are blessed to have you with us.
This Sunday we welcome Margherita Downey, an attorney and volunteer judge with the Juvenile Pre-trial Diversion program at the South County Courthouse. Margherita will lead a special Sunday forum after our 10 am service, sharing her experience in this program. This program is a powerful example of restorative justice, which seeks the rehabilitation of young offenders through reconciliation with victims and the community at large. We will gather in the Guild Room.
This Sunday is also the final day of our Icons in Transformation exhibit. I want to thank Valerie Smith, chairperson of the Icons Exhibit Committee, and her incredible team of volunteers who have helped make this exhibit such a wonderful experience for our church family and our wider Delray Beach community. This exhibit has not only given us inspiration these past couple of months, it has attracted hundreds of people to our beautiful church campus, giving them the opportunity to meet so many of our church members and learn more about the incredible ministry happening here at St. Paul’s. An important additional benefit is that it has helped us raise over $20,000 to support out mission and outreach ministries.
Finally, last Sunday we had 10 people confirmed, three people received into the Episcopal Church, and one person renew his baptismal vows! I want to say a special thanks to our Youth Ministry team: Autumn and Mike Mrezco, Elyse Granda, Tim Kilpatrick, Nancy and Mike Armstrong, and Rev. Kathleen, our director of Children, Youth, and Family ministry. These folks nurtured and formed our nine high school children in the Episcopal faith in which they were confirmed last week.
In Christ,
Fr. Paul+
