Fr. Paul’s Blog 6.2.18

This past week, both our Day School and our Paul’s Place Afterschool program wrapped up school year 2017-18. On Friday morning, June 1, the children of our Day School enjoyed a lovely “graduation” ceremony. Our Pre-K 4 children will now venture into the joy of kindergarten and our Pre-K 3 children will prepare for another year of fun at St. Paul’s Day School. That afternoon, our Paul’s Place children celebrated the end of the school year with a party that featured a wild and wet water slide, great food and drink, and lots of well wishes from our wonderful volunteers. We are so blessed with these two special ministries for children and families!

Another one of those blessings is our Children, Youth, and Family Ministry. As the summer begins, I want to take this opportunity to thank Rev. Kathleen, Liz Ryan, and the many terrific volunteers who give so much of themselves in helping our children, youth, and their families to grow in their faith by knowing and sharing the love of God.

While Church School is on hiatus until September, we will once again offer “Popcorn and Parables” for our elementary-aged children during the 10 am service. Our Youth Group team is also planning lots of summer fun for our middle and high-schoolers.

Speaking of summer fun, Vacation Bible School starts tomorrow! Our theme this year is “Babylon: Daniel’s Courage in Captivity.” Through crafts, songs, games, snacks, and lots of great music, our children will be reminded that God is always with us.

Let the summer faith-filled fun begin!
