The Reverend Paul J. Kane
Rector
The Reverend Paul J. Kane was instituted as the seventh Rector of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church on December 1, 2015. Fr. Kane is a graduate of St. Vincent de Paul Regional Seminary in Boynton Beach, FL and LaSalle University in Philadelphia, PA. He was ordained to the priesthood in the Archdiocese of Miami (RC) on May 11, 1996, and was received as a priest of the Episcopal Church in Southeast Florida on June 14, 2013. In addition to his ministry as Rector of St. Paul’s, Fr. Kane serves as a member of the board of directors of the Delray Beach Interfaith Social Services Committee and the Anti-Bias Coalition of Delray Beach.
Prior to coming to St. Paul’s, Fr. Kane served for two years as Priest-in-Charge at St. James-in-the-Hills Episcopal Church in Hollywood, FL. During that time, he also served as Vice-Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Jubilee Center of South Broward, Inc. and as the Broward Deanery’s clergy representative to the Executive Board of the Diocese of Southeast Florida.
Before serving full-time at St. James in-the-Hills, Fr. Kane worked for four years at Food for The Poor, Inc. in Coconut Creek, FL. There he managed a team of clergy speakers and project development coordinators and oversaw projects of sustainable development throughout the Caribbean and Latin America.
From the time of his ordination in 1996 until June 2010, Fr. Kane served as a priest in the Roman Catholic Church. In 2011, Fr. Kane and his wife Irene made the journey from “Rome to Canterbury,” becoming members of St. Mary Magdalene Episcopal Church in Coral Springs, FL. Fr. Kane served three Roman Catholic parishes in south Florida: St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church in Pompano Beach (2001 – 2010), St. Timothy Catholic Church in Kendall (1998-2001), and Little Flower Catholic Church in Hollywood (1996-1998).
During this time, Fr. Kane served on the Board of Directors of the Morningstar Renewal Center in Pinecrest, FL and on the Clergy Advisory Board of BOLDJustice, a direct-action organization in Broward County, FL.
Prior to seminary, Fr. Kane worked in sales management for Amscan, Inc and Berwick Industries, Inc. He and his wife Irene have an adult daughter named Ingrid.
The Reverend Bernie J. Pecaro
Assisting Priest
The Reverend Bernard J. Pecaro was born in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida in 1955. A resident of Broward County, he graduated from Nova Southeastern University, Bachelor of Science in Community Service, in 1978. He received his Master of Divinity Degree from Nashotah House Episcopal Seminary in 1984.
Fr. Bernie served as Curate his in first parish of St. Mary’s, Stuart, from 1984-1990. He next was called by the parish of St. Paul’s, Delray Beach, where he served as Curate from 1990-1998. He was then called by the parish of St. Martin, Pompano Beach, as Rector. He served there 23 years until October 2021. He was then called by St. Paul’s, Delray Beach, to begin his new post as the Associate Rector at St. Paul’s, Delray Beach, on Sunday, November 28th becoming Assistant Rector in January of 2024.
Fr. Bernie received his Commission into the Navy, Chaplain Corps, Reserve, in 1987. He ministered to the Sea Services of the Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard until his retirement in 2014.
He has supported the Diocese of Southeast Florida in numerous capacities. Notably, are: two terms as President of the Standing Committee; two terms as the Dean of the Broward Deanery; Youth Commission as Clergy Representative and for the past eight years as the Spiritual Director of the Cursillo Ministry. He is presently a member of the National Cursillo Committee, Executive Board, serving as its secretary. Serving the Delray Beach community, Fr. Bernie is a volunteer Chaplain for the Delray Beach Police Department where for the past two years he has served as Chief Chaplain. He is also involved in several inter-faith committees.
Fr. Bernie is married to Sylvia Gwynn of Delray Beach. Together, they have two daughters, one son and two granddaughters.
Roscoe Campbell
Sexton
Roscoe has been St. Paul’s beloved sexton since 2002. His warm smile and friendly Halloo is often the first greeting visitors receive as they enter St. Paul’s campus. Originally from the Bahamas, Roscoe grew up serving as an altar boy, and on up through the ranks, at St. Andrew’s Anglican Church in Artrous on Cay Island. Two of Roscoe’s brothers became Anglican priests.
In 1990, Roscoe married Helen and they raised four children, Roscoe Jr., Denario, and twin girls, Kaydiesha and Kayneisha. The family moved to the United States in 1998, and Roscoe and Helen currently live at River Bridge in Greenacres.
Roscoe’s favorite hobby is fishing—he especially loves saltwater fishing which he enjoys on his trips to the Bahamas.
Ellen Kentner
Communications Coordinator (part-time)
Ellen was raised in Episcopal churches and schools in Florida. After majoring in English at the University of Florida, Ellen married, and moved to New York City. She was a marketing associate for children’s books at Farrar, Straus & Giroux, and Crown Publishers. After their daughter Isobel was born, Ellen and her husband Michael moved to what was then a sleepy little Florida town–called Wellington.
Ellen has been involved in Children’s and Youth Ministry for many years, first at Bethesda by the Sea in Palm Beach and later at St. David’s in Wellington. She has managed an independent bookstore, worked as a communications consultant for the nonprofit Toward a More Perfect Union, and served for eight years as the Youth Services Coordinator for a rural branch of the Palm Beach County Library System. Ellen has been a board member of the nonprofit organization Community Compact since 2011 and works closely with the Summer Scholars at Chautauqua program for high-achieving and under-resourced college students.
Ellen and Bobby McKeehan became members of St. Paul’s in 2007 and were married at St. Paul’s in 2010. One of their first adventures as a married couple was going on a mission trip to Bondeau, Haiti in May of 2010. Ellen was the publicity chairperson for the Icons in Transformation exhibition, co-facilitated St. Paul’s first Sacred Ground listening circle and served on the Vestry. Ellen was St. Paul’s Social Media Consultant for six months before transitioning into her current role as Communications Coordinator in May 2024.
David Macfarlane
Organist and Choir Director (part-time)
David Macfarlane came to St. Paul’s in 2021 as Director of Music Ministries. Prior to that he held a similar position at First Presbyterian Church of Englewood, New Jersey for 18 years during which time he oversaw the complete renovation of the largest pipe organ in Bergen County, NJ. Tragically the church and organ were destroyed by fire in 2016. In 2023 he semi-retired and now remains as Organist-Choirmaster at St. Paul’s.
David holds a Doctorate in Music from Rutgers University, a Masters in Choral Conducting from University of Hartford and a B.Mus. in Organ from University of Illinois. Dr. Macfarlane has been active in the American Guild of Organists, serving as Dean of three different chapters, as District Convener for three terms, and he was elected to three terms on the National Council. He was a finalist in the 2002 AGO Improvisation competition and has been awarded the Associate of the American Guild of Organists certificate. He has performed twice in St. Peter’s in Rome and was organist for the 1995 papal mass at Giants’ Stadium in New Jersey. He also was seen playing the organ three times on “The View.”
While in New Jersey, David was foster parent to ten children over a ten-year period. He currently lives in Oakland Park with his two dogs Kevin and Sammie who are a familiar sight around St. Paul’s.
Elaine Wotton
Operations Manager (part-time)
Originally from Manchester, England, Elaine came to Florida in 1989 to work for a genealogical research company where she worked for 20 years. Since 2010, Elaine has worked part-time in sales support and administration for a technology company in Boca Raton.
Elaine and her husband Phil have been members of St. Paul’s since 1999. Their sons Douglas and Philip were both baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s, were members of the children’s choir, youth group and served as acolytes.
Elaine was confirmed at St. Paul’s in 2000 and over the years has served in various ministries: Children’s Nursery, Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, Stephen Ministry, and Episcopal Women’s Cursillo, serving on the Cursillo Team for EWC #115. Elaine has also served on the Vestry, and is a trained Stephen Minister, and a Daughter of the King, currently serving as Vice President and Secretary for our St. Catherine of Siena Chapter.
Liz Ryan
Day School Director
Liz has worked with young children since 1993 and was a teacher and director at the preschool at her parish in Coral Springs, FL before moving to Illinois in 2001. There she was director of all the children and youth programming at her parish. She feels blessed to be back in South Florida and back to her roots with the preschool-aged children here at St. Paul’s Day School and knew it was the right place to be from the very start! With the retirement of beloved director Patti Daniell, Liz becomes the third director in the school’s 55-year history! “This is a very special place! Children know they are loved and valued the minute they walk through the door!”
Kathy Fazio
Executive Director of Paul’s Place After School
Kathy grew up in Grosse Pointe, Michigan. She graduated from Rollins College with a BA in History and Political Science. After graduation, Kathy moved to Boston where she worked in the investment business for 15 years. During her time in Boston, she met and married her husband, John. In 1987, Kathy and John moved to Delray Beach and started their family. They have two grown children, Annie and Jay, both of whom attended St. Paul’s Day School. In 2001, Kathy began volunteering at Paul’s Place After School one day a week. Over time, additional help was needed, so Kathy turned into a full-time volunteer. Kathy took over the role of Director during the Fall of 2007.
Miliene Dellagrande
Director of Paul’s Place After School
Miliene was born in Haiti and relocated to Florida in 1999, where she has made Palm Beach County her home. With a bachelor’s degree in education from Florida Atlantic University, she began her professional journey at Paul’s Place in 2014, starting as a teacher, advancing to assistant director, and ultimately assuming the role of director. She plays a vital role in bridging the communication gap between the Haitian parents and the Paul’s Place team. Miliene also serves as the Academic Advisor to the juniors, seniors, and college students, assisting them with applications for college, scholarships, financial aid, and navigating college life.
