Ms. Sakeena Jawad
Teaching has been my passion for the last 20 years. I truly love creating a calm, safe, and joyful space where children can explore, ask questions, and learn through play. My absolute favorite part of the day is listening to the brilliant and funny things young children say as they discover the world around them.
My experience doesn’t just come from the classroom, though. I am also blessed with three wonderful children of my own—two girls and a boy. They have been my greatest teachers when it comes to patience, flexibility, and the art of negotiation!
Outside of school, I love spending quality time with my family. When I get a little free time to myself, I enjoy watching TV, listening to music, and going to live concerts. I am looking forward to a wonderful year of partnership, growth, and happy milestones with your family.
Ms. Karen Sciara
Getting her start in the early childhood profession by happy accident, Karen Sciara has since been in the field for 8 years with no plans of stopping any time soon. Diagnosed with ADHD as a child, Ms. Sciara is sensitive to the fact that not all children learn the same and makes it her goal to implement whole-child centered teaching in her classroom.
A resident of Delray Beach for over a decade, she lives with her husband, three kids and two cats. Having had a child graduate from St. Paul’s Day School, Ms. Sciara is excited to be a part of the “Day School family” and share her love of learning with the students of the PreK-3 class!
Mrs. Liz Ryan, Director
Mrs. Ryan has worked with young children since 1993 and was a teacher and director at the preschool at her parish in Coral Springs, FL before moving to Illinois in 2001. There she was director of all the child and youth programming at her parish. She feels blessed to be back in South Florida and back to her roots with the preschool-aged children here at St. Paul’s Day School and knew it was the right place to be from the very start! With the retirement of beloved director Patti Daniell, Liz becomes the third director in the school’s 63 year history! “This is a very special place! Children know they are loved and valued the minute they walk through the door!”
Liz has Florida Childcare Director Credentials and is a member of:
- National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC)
- National Association of Episcopal Schools (NAES)
- Florida Association for Child Care Management (FACCM)
