Ms. Margaret Ryan

A teacher with a love of art, music, and language; Ms. Margaret has a passion for teaching and is excited to embark on the next stage of her career as a new pre-k 3 teacher. She comes to us with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and spent 5 years previously as language instructor for adults in aviation. As a mother of two who moved to with Delray with her husband four years ago, she has fallen in love with the greater community and is excited to give back by returning to teaching our youngest students. (And no, Ms. Margaret and Mrs. Liz Ryan are not related, just happen to marry men with the same last name!)

Ms. Karen Sciara

Getting her start in the early childhood profession by happy accident, Karen Sciara has since been in the field for 8 years with no plans of stopping any time soon. Diagnosed with ADHD as a child, Ms. Sciara is sensitive to the fact that not all children learn the same and makes it her goal to implement whole-child centered teaching in her classroom. A resident of Delray Beach for over a decade, she lives with her husband, three kids and two cats. Having had a child graduate from St. Paul’s Day School, Ms. Sciara is excited to be a part of the “Day School family” and share her love of learning with the students of the VPK A class!

Ms. Cary Tobias

We’re delighted to have Ms. Cary as our VPK B teacher! Cary Tobias has lived and worked in the Delray/ Boynton area for over thirty years. Her daughter went to St. Paul’s Day School when Mrs. Patti Daniell was the director. Cary and her family have always loved this school. (Daughter Lily, married, has taught in Early Childhood classes as well!) Ms. Cary has been an Early Childhood Educator for over twenty years, and is very excited to be part of St. Paul’s staff.

Mrs. Liz Ryan, Director

Mrs Ryan has worked with young children since 1993 and was a teacher and director at the preschool at her parish in Coral Springs, FL before moving to Illinois in 2001. There she was director of all the child and youth programming at her parish. She feels blessed to be back in South Florida and back to her roots with the preschool-aged children here at St. Paul’s Day School and knew it was the right place to be from the very start! With the retirement of beloved director Patti Daniell, Liz becomes the third director in the school’s 62 year history! “This is a very special place! Children know they are loved and valued the minute they walk through the door!”

Liz has Florida Childcare Director Credentials and is a member of:

  • National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC)
  • National Association of Episcopal Schools (NAES)
  • Florida Association for Child Care Management (FACCM)
