The Reverend Clelia Pinza Garrity, LCSW – Deacon

Our Deacon Clelia has been at St. Paul’s since the summer of 2012 and is involved in many ministries both locally and internationally. She serves at the altar at all worship services, guides our Pastoral Care ministries, and is directly involved as the leader of our mission work in Bondeau, Haiti.

Clelia is also an excellent teacher and leads several Bible studies and prayer groups at St. Paul’s. She has also been instrumental in gathering a group of volunteers to assist with care of the altar, vestments, paraments and the like.

Clelia has led several medical mission trips to Haiti as well as organized a “best practices” symposium for those involved or interested in medical mission work.

Her current class schedule includes:

Weekly Bible Study – Wednesdays at 8:00 am
Join Deacon Clelia at Panera’s on Federal Highway just north of Linton Ave. each Wednesday morning from 8-9AM and explore the biblical texts for the upcoming week. What is the historical or critical background of the text? What do you think the Scripture is saying? What do you think should be included in this week’s sermon? This Bible Study provides you with an opportunity to have your say, grow spiritually and prepare for the upcoming week’s sermon.

Lectio Divina – Tuesdays at 9:00 am
Deacon Clelia leads  this ancient spiritual exercise. All are welcome.

Fridays in the Sacristy – Fridays at 9:00 am
Join Deacon Clelia for a time of prayer and work with the holy vessels, linens, and other items needed for our worship services. Clelia offers instructions for how to care for the items and how to setup for services, as well as a focus on prayer and the holiness of the work.
