Associate Rector

Full-Time

The Rector and Vestry of Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church, Delray Beach, in the Diocese of Southeast Florida, invite applications for the position of Associate Rector.  The Associate Rector will share with the Rector in the liturgical, pastoral, formational, missional, and administrative life of the parish, and will have oversight of a number of important ministries, including our children, youth, and family ministry; young adults; pastoral care; and outreach, all of which have strong lay involvement and leadership.  We are looking for a priest, either recently ordained or seeking further experience, who has a deep faith in Jesus Christ, and who is a team player, energetic, and able to articulate the Christian faith while listening and encouraging others on the same journey.

Saint Paul’s is a program-size church, some of whose members make a significant contribution to the wider life and governance of the diocese, and is also a member of the Consortium of Endowed Episcopal Parishes.  The Associate Rector will join a collaborative team of seven full-time staff and a host of part-time staff, including a seasonal priest and  committed lay leadership. We are excited about the gifts that a new Associate Rector could bring to Saint Paul’s and we look forward to growing in grace together.

Located in the heart of midtown Delray Beach, Saint Paul’s was founded in 1904. We are an inter-generational parish that deeply values diversity. We have a robust music program that includes an adult Chancel Choir, a Jubilate Youth Choir, a Cherub Choir for pre-readers, and a teen praise band.

Our next Associate Rector will be a part of a vibrant team of ministers to our children, youth, and young adults. For children, our programs include a pre-K Day School and a Sunday School program overseen by a Coordinator of Children’s Faith Formation and a team of dedicated teachers. Our youth ministry includes a part-time Lay Youth Minister and a team of volunteer youth ministers. Our young adult ministry enjoys tremendously dedicated lay leadership and has grown greatly over the past eight years. Based on our strategic plan for our long-term growth and vitality, we are most interested in growing the church through dynamic worship, multi-generational Christian education and formation, Christ-centered pastoral care, and serving others in the wider community.

To apply, please send a cover letter, resume and OTM Profile to: The Very Reverend Paul J. Kane, Rector, at 561-276-4541, or at revpaul@stpaulsdelray.org.
