Rector’s Christmas Letter

Dear Friends and Members of St. Paul’s,

“I am bringing you good news of great joy for all the people: to you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is the Messiah, the Lord.” Luke 2:10-11

As we prepare to celebrate the birth of Jesus at Christmas, we are invited to hear anew the good news brought by the angel to the shepherds keeping watch over their flocks.  God loves us so much that God became one of us, born in Bethlehem so many years ago and yet still being born into our hearts today.

The great joy of Christmas is receiving God’s gift of salvation in Jesus Christ, and like the angel and the shepherds that first Christmas night, joyfully sharing the good news of Jesus with the world around us.  The greatest gift of Christmas can neither be purchased nor earned; it can only be received by a humble, child-like heart.

I invite you to join with us for Christmas services next Sunday evening and Monday morning as we celebrate the birth of Christ.  Allow the good news of Christmas to bring great joy to your heart and mind.  Encourage family and friends to join you at St. Paul’s this Christmas so that their hearts, too, might receive the gift of Jesus.

Irene, Ingrid, Yanguito, and our entire family join me in wishing you and yours a joyful and blessed Christmas.

Merry Christmas,

The Rev. Paul J. Kane, Rector
