Let’s Do Lunch!

Tuesday, March 28 at 12:30pm
In addition to good food and fellowship, we will have a special speaker telling a true and great World War II story about his father. Robert Smith was the pilot of a B-26 Marauder mid-range bomber and in June 1943 he flew his own plane across the Atlantic, stopping in Greenland and Iceland to a base just north of London. He was 21 years old and just married. you will hear his story of the missions he flew and how on his 60th mission he was shot down near Chartes, France. He was taken prisoner by the Germans and spent the rest of the War in a POW camp. This is not the main story, however. The much more incredible story was 50 years later when he returned to Europe and the surprising events that occurred then, and again several years later. If you enjoy WWII history, or have a great interest in France, this is a story you will not want to miss. Please sign up in courtyard, cost is $8.
